Notes: Summer 2017 Goals

We’re quickly approaching the end of April already, so I’ve been thinking of activities I’d like to get to this summer!

-Kayak in each of the Great Lakes
-Kayak around the Toronto Islands (eventually I will get to do this!)
-A backcountry canoe trip through Algonquin Park
-Explore more of the Hamilton Conservation Areas – we recently moved to the area and are eager to check out the neighbourhood!
-Get our bikes out on the trails
-Camp at more parks (currently undecided)
-Road trip to Virginia?! – the fiance was sent here for work and wished he could have spent more time exploring
-And of course…more camping, kayaking, and hiking adventures in Hastings Township (new-ish family owned property that needs to be explored!)

I also hope to get more of these adventures shared here on the blog πŸ™‚

Summer 2016 Bucket List

It’s finally spring (maybe? Today we experienced flurries, hail, and rain!) so the plans for this summer are happening!

It may be only Monday, but we're already dreaming of the weekend #adventures to come!

Technically, BF and I have gone camping in the wilderness: No running water, no electricity, no cook stove, no bathrooms. But we haven’t spent more than 12 hours in the woods without going into town for a proper meal or washroom, or to charge our phones. That fact bothers me every time we head up to the same family-owned camping property. Don’t get me wrong, I love it there! Fresh air, cool breeze, and very private land, but…It’s been on my heart to go camping more frequently and to try new places, I just haven’t started looking for anywhere to go.

Until now.

A good friend of mine said they had booked a backcountry camp site this summer, and suggested we join in… so we did!

I plan to share photos (of course!) and the experience of the trip on this blog of mine, originally started as my 52 Hike Challenge tracker.

So, on the list for this summer:

-taking BF’s nephew for his first camping trip
-Flowerpot Island backcountry camping
-Gananoque and Thousand Islands
-Kayaking, kayaking, kayaking!
-Canoe trip into Algonquin Park to a backcountry camp site
-Presqu’ile Provincial Park afterΒ the Trenton Air Show

And more adventures I haven’t even thought of yet… I’m so excited for this summer!
