We’re quickly approaching the end of April already, so I’ve been thinking of activities I’d like to get to this summer!
-Kayak in each of the Great Lakes
-Kayak around the Toronto Islands (eventually I will get to do this!)
-A backcountry canoe trip through Algonquin Park
-Explore more of the Hamilton Conservation Areas – we recently moved to the area and are eager to check out the neighbourhood!
-Get our bikes out on the trails
-Camp at more parks (currently undecided)
-Road trip to Virginia?! – the fiance was sent here for work and wished he could have spent more time exploring
-And of course…more camping, kayaking, and hiking adventures in Hastings Township (new-ish family owned property that needs to be explored!)
I also hope to get more of these adventures shared here on the blog 🙂

Breslau to Burlington, Ontario
We started out from Breslau and hit the highway by 7:30. Traffic wasn’t too bad and we stayed in the right lane. I usually do when I have my boat tied on the car.
The sky was clouded over and I was concerned it might rain during our paddle, but it cleared up nicely later on.
We parked in the Beachway Park lots that run along Lakeshore Road and the Waterfront Trail. Conveniently located so that we were able to easily carry both our kayaks from the cars down to the beach.
Out on the water it was calm and very hazy… at some points you couldn’t see where the horizon was, the sky and the lake just merged into one mass.
We paddled out to an odd structure to retrieve a geocache, which unfortunately was tightly sealed from the weather. I took photos and posted my log, and we paddled directly from the structure over to the beach for lunch. It was nice to stretch the legs!
